Captain Morris (Mo) Peelle was Commanding Officer of Attack Squadron 23 in 1968 and 1969 when that squadron operated the A-4F.  He was also the U.S.S. Constellation's (CVA-64) Commanding Officer from September 1976  to June 1978.  Mo is presently the Director of Aircraft Procurement for USS Midway Museum.

During Captain Peele's command tour in VA-23, two of the squadron's pilots, LCDR Larry Gosen and Lt Stan Smiley, were lost.  Their names are painted on the port side of this aircraft.
